A highly recommended festival - one of the best. I''m not a singer or musician myself, but I''m hoping to be back at Rothbury again this year simply to enjoy the music, meet old friends, and do some more walking in the surrounding hills.

Have loved the music festival since I was a wee bairn, won a silver medal at the 1st school (but there was only 2 people in the competition-so that doesn''t really count) Great oppourtunity to see some old and new faces! See you this year, where can I get a T-shirt from?

The Music Festival created a very enjoyable atmosphere last year - hoping for the same this year! It would bve nice this year if there were a few more different types of dancing.

Rothbury is a festival that retains a great warm and welcoming atmosphere.Keep an eye out this year for a young band called Tyed. They are a three piece of exceptional young musicians, they are pushing the boundaries of traditional music without losing the essence of the music, they were finalists in last years radio 2 young folk awards and they are a band to watch for the future. Also anyone wishing to get involved in informal sessions should go the Turks Head pub and introduce yourselves, we really need to get the informal sessions flying like the old days so don''t by shy just get up there and give it some welly. I may see you there, cheers Andrew

Having lived in Rothbury for 21 years I have been involved with the festival in many ways from supporting my fiddle playing daughter in her early years, helping out with various tasks over the weekend and being a member of the Committee for a while but I never thought that I would actually be taking part one day. I have been learning to play the bodhran for a couple of years, courtesy of Frank McGuire who made me a superb instrument and the acoustic bass, courtesy of Rod Clements and this year I made my performance debut at the Mart and around the various informal pub sessions. It was great fun and shows you are never to late to learn. Looking forward to next year and maybe entering a competition!

What a brilliant festival ! The music performed on the outdoor stage on the saturday afternoon was inspiring, a great crowd and fantastic weather.Once again the saturday night concert at the Mart was the highlight of the weekend. The sheer variety of music was astounding,a great crowd created a great atmosphere and as usual the combined pipebands brought the evening to a spine tingling conclusion. The committee deserve a huge thank you for the hard work that must go into producing such a wonderful weekend of music in our very own village. How many days until the next one ?
